Photos: show the real you
A few clear, recent photos work better than lots of blurry ones.
- Lead with a clear photo of your face. Natural light and a smile go a long way. Take the hat and sunglasses off for this one.
- Add photos of what you love. Out walking, with your horse, by the river or with your dog. They give people something to ask about.
- Keep them recent. Photos from the last year or so mean nobody is surprised when you meet.
- Watch what's in the background. Avoid photos that show your house, your number plate or exactly where you live.
Writing about yourself
Short, friendly and honest is better than long and perfect.
- Instead of "I like the outdoors", try "Happiest on a muddy walk with the dogs, then a pint by the fire."
- Instead of "No townies", try "Looking for someone who'd rather spend Sunday in the hills than at the shops."
